Formed in September 2003, The Phoenix
Brass Quintet is made up of professional musicians who are all
recent graduates of the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
Members of the quintet have studied with leading professors from
the brass world including the faculties of the RNCM, Royal Academy
of Music, Conservatoire National Superieur de la Musique, Lyon
and The Juilliard School, NYC.
As freelance musicians, members
of the quintet perform regularly with some of the countries leading
ensembles including the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Halle Orchestra,
Manchester Camerata and the Grimethorpe Colliery Band.
The
Quintet has a great deal of experience as a chamber ensemble,
having performed regularly across the North of England at a variety
of functions including Recitals, Concerts, Weddings, Festivals,
Private Parties, Charity Events and Community Workshops.
The Quintet
prides itself on performing an expansive yet accessible repertoire,
ranging from works by Handel, Vivaldi and Bach to Bernstein,
Gershwin and The Beatles.
Highlights of the Quintet's career have
included performing in a public 'masterclass' for the world famous
Canadian Brass Quintet, playing for the Labour Party Community
Conference at the Manchester G-Mex Centre and making regular
appearances as guest recitalists at Chester and Manchester Cathedrals.
The
